There are hundreds of YouTube videos from people who claim to make more than $15,000 a month from books on Amazon. These claims are false and are only meant to trick people into purchasing their courses.
Some of these charlatans say they make money by writing books using AI tools like Chat GPT. Others claim to sell diaries and journals (books with line pages only), and earn thousands, which is false!
I have been self-publishing on Amazon for over six years. I have over 20 books in different languages, and I have experience with Amazon. My page here.
Firstly, when they publish children's books (whether for coloring or puzzles), or diary books (with lines) and under 70 pages, Amazon considers them "Low Content Books", that is, books with weak content.
Instead of 70%, the commission is reduced to 30%. Anyone who publishes books with low content and only a few pages can only earn a 30% commission.
Each book sells for $2 or $3, and since they don't sell that many, it's impossible to make 15 thousand dollars from that.
Furthermore, it is not enough to simply make books available on Amazon; it is necessary to invest in advertising over the course of months on different channels on the internet, with the aim of generating visits, traffic, and potential customers.
But the lying YouTubers don't say that; they just want to trick people and sell courses.
When it comes to AI, I've already tried more than 11 services and applications, almost all of which are based on Chat GPT version 4.0.
There are several limitations: e-books produced with this software never exceed 30 pages; several paragraphs contain repeated sentences, a lot of "chatter" and little content.
Amazon already has algorithms that analyze the quality of the books we submit, classifying them as "Low Content". Additionally, if they have less than 70 pages, Amazon considers them "Low Content" and only gives you 30% commission.
Artificial Intelligence only knows how to write known content (weight loss, marketing, self-help, business, etc.), there are many topics about which it does not know how to generate content.
For example, in terms of religion, esotericism, occultism, and spirituality, the A.I. does not know how to write about these topics, as I have already tested.
I sometimes find books of this type on Amazon, written with AI, and many negative comments from readers.
It is important to keep in mind that the readers who buy your books are experienced, having read hundreds of books on the topic.
If they don't like your book (because it's bad content, written by AI), they will write negative reviews, your reputation will be damaged.
But YouTubers don't explain that.
What you can do is use Artificial Intelligence, just as additional "support", for some additional research, or rewrite paragraphs to make them more attractive.
You can never expect AI to write an entire book for you while sitting idly by. That's a lie, it doesn't exist.
Books with a few pages and without quality content, Amazon considers them "Low Content", because they are nice and they don't call them "Trash", they call them "Low Content".
You will sell very few units and the commission does not exceed 30%. This is the purest truth.
